About Me
Donte Castillo: Hey! My name is Donte. I’m a 3D artist, a bit of a traditional artist, gamer, reader, and show binger. I’m originally from Houston, but I plan to travel to find the best place for myself. Currently, my interests are in growing my skills in modeling and texturing as a start. While being more of a 3D generalist, this capstone and the experience with a team has helped me lean towards wanting to learn more about games and virtual environments. Outside of practice, I have usually engaged in video games or sometimes board games. It is also common for me to socialize in person with friends for food and conversation.
Holly Krey: Hello, I am Holly. I am a Virtual Environment Artist, sketcher, and painter. I grew up in a small town called Lake Dallas and dream to work closer to the city. I am looking forward to getting a job in the Game industry and working with my husband and our friends on other projects after college. In my free time, I love hanging out with my rabbit, Bunbun, I am slowly getting into gardening, and plan on spending more time with horses in the near future.
Mitchell Janek: I am a very active person always vising new places and trying new things. I have a love for all types of animals and enjoy the beauty in all nature has to offer. Since I was young, using computers was a way to explore the world and see all it has to offer. Video games themselves are an entire world that take you many different places. Most of the time these places are better than where you are.
Project Description
A horror game based in a submarine deep into the ocean searching for a great power that belongs to a god.
What is one piece of advice you would provide to new ATEC students?
Donte Castillo: Aim to get into your desired pathway sooner rather than later. Also, you may feel overwhelmed with information at first so notes might help with unpacking and memorizing the information.
Holly Krey: When working on a project, always ask yourself if this is really necessary or are you being too much of a perfectionist. It can save you time and frustration.
Mitchell Janek: Start small with any project and work up to a larger scale.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Donte Castillo: I hopefully see myself settled into a studio or at least a group of freelancers, with some awareness of how I will proceed in order to reach new goals. I also want to have more close network friends in order to hold onto that sense of mutual aid and camaraderie.
Holly Krey: Starting up our own Indie Game Company with my husband and our friends.
Mitchell Janek: CEO of the gaming company in the works with other ATEC students.
