About Me

Hey, y’all! I’m Brittany. I’m someone who thrives on a variety of interests, and I refuse to pick one and settle. I’m a multimedia and digital artist, a storyteller, a designer, and an academic in equal measure. Like a multi-dimensional Mr. Potato Head, I love to mix and match my interests and skills into various creative and academic projects. My work is almost always engaging with questions of identity and relationships or discovering new ways to communicate and share knowledge. When I’m not game designing or painting or writing a video essay about paintings in video games, I’m either playing more games (surprise!), baking, or harassing my cats.

Project Description

Press E to Interact is a video essay series that has the goal of reading, analyzing, and contextualizing collectible lore artifacts in video games in order to explore and discuss the thesis that video games are inherently paratextual in a way other media isn’t.

What is one piece of advice you would provide to new ATEC students?

Explore. Take a class on a whim. Let yourself try new things! You may find something you love doing, even just as a new hobby.

What’s on your music playlist?

Surprise! It varies. Right now though, it’s a lot of punk, synthwave, and nu jazz.
