Emma Gulitti

About Me

Hi, my name is Emma Gulitti! I’m a Dallas based graphic designer with a passion for combining modern and retro visual styles. I draw inspiration from pop culture and social media to create timeless works that convey messages about current social issues and honor the work of other creatives. I can offer a sympathetic approach to design problems. I want to be able to use my human experiences to take initiative in innovating and creating empathy driven designs. Outside of design, you can usually find me at the thrift store or hunting for new houseplants.

Project Description

Root is a photo-sharing social media app designed for plant lovers. Users would utilize this platform to interact with each other by sharing photos of their plants and giving advice on plant care. The deliverable for this project is an interactive prototype created using Figma.

What is one piece of advice you would provide to new ATEC students?

Take as wide a variety of courses as you can. Having small amounts of experience in a variety of art and design disciplines can open so many doors and allow you to create more complex and unique projects by combining your skillset.

What will you miss most about UTD after graduation?

I think the thing I’ll miss the most is the sense of community at UTD. During my time here, I’ve been able to participate in student organizations such as Meteor Theater, AIGA, and the Freshman Mentor Program that have allowed me to give back to the students at this university while also making longtime friends.
