About Me

Hey! My name is Amanda and I’m an animation student as well as a musician here on campus. I’ve always enjoyed storytelling and was in a fiction writing club throughout high school; I’ve written throughout all of college, too, in my free time, and Capstone finally let me merge my writing with my artwork and my music, as well as with coding, which has also always been a big part of my life (my parents are both computer nerds and taught me coding from a young age). Getting to merge all the things I love has been awesome, and I hope you enjoy reading through this project!

Project Description

“Truth is in the Eye of the Beholder” is an interactive story that takes the viewers through a murder mystery, complete with artwork, animatics, and music that I created myself. It uses a program called Twine and has some simple coding to make it an interactive story-game.

What are you most looking forward to after the pandemic?

I’m so excited for in-person performances to return safely! Being a musician was really hard during the total shut-down, but since things have started to calm down I’ve finally been able to make music with others again and it’s been amazing. I hope things continue to improve so we can all enjoy music together again safely!

What will you miss most about UTD after graduation?

I’m going to miss all of the awesome people here. It’s so easy to hang out and meet up with friends on campus and to have student organizations where friendships are made, and I’m going to miss that feeling of community once I’m no longer a UTD Student.
